Arnold River

After crossing the Height of Land and finding the "Beautiful Meadow", the Expedition started down what has come to be named Arnold River. Benedict Arnold and some men used boats, but most had to walk to Lac Megantic along the River. This nearly proved disastrous when the swamps surrounding the west end of the lake were encountered.

Shortly after entering Canada on Rt 27 (which becomes Rt 161) there is a bridge over Arnold River. This is the view looking upstream from there.
