Benjamin Catlin Grave
Torringford Cemetery, in the rear of 1674 Torringford St, Torrington, CT (drive in the dirt access road along the south side of Rouet Farm.)
Benjamin Catlin served as quartermaster of the Arnold Expedition. He was taken prisoner after the failed attack. Originally from Weathersfield, CT, the 37 year old was exchanged in Jan 1777 and entered the naval service of the United States, serving on the frigate Trumbull.
I believe this is the Benjamin Catlin on the Expedition, although he is ten years younger than listed in the roster prepared by Steve Darley in his excellent book "Voices From a Wilderness Expedition."

The grave is situated approximately in the center of the cemetery. It is the curve-topped stone with the two flag-holders just to the right of the distinctive obelisk.
