After Benedict Arnold spoke with Samuel Parsons about the cannon that could be captured at Ticonderoga (while he was enroute to Boston with his militia company in April 1775 in response to the Lexington Alarm), Parsons, Silas Deane and others sent Heman Allen north to inform and recruit his brother Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys to be ready to cooperate with troops that would be marching from Connecticut.
