  1. Arnold's March: Maine Portion

Colburn House

Arnold Rd, off Rt 27, Pittston, ME

The home of Reuben Colburn saw much activity in the fall of 1775. Colburn had contracted to build 200 bateaux for the use of Arnold's expedition. He had a very tight deadline to meet. The slope between his home and the river was bustling with workmen preparing the boats.

Benedict Arnold slept in the house, which now serves as headquarters for the Arnold Expedition Historical Society. See their informative website at: http://www.arnoldsmarch.com

The house, which is open on a limited schedule in summer, displays items found along the route of Arnold's March by society members.
