Alder Stream

as seen from Rt 27, about 7 miles north of Cathedral Pines Campground in Eustis, ME

The Expedition passed this area after torrential rains that raised the level of the river greatly. As those with bateaux struggled against the current of the Dead River, those on foot were on the west shore. In order to ford swollen Alder Stream, the walkers were forced to detour way upstream.
